Few Words From Bruce/BV2KI
Years ago, The small island Kuei San Dao (Turtle Island) was a military shooting range. After government shot down The military facility and open to a public for tourism, we took 5 months paper work to have permission to this small island since Oct. 2001. Due to The bad marine condition, we wait for The best time after got that permission, and took our first trip to this Island on March 2002.
We use our club call BV2B/9 as well as this summer one. The island located at N 24-50-35 / E 121-56-48, 1 KM long and 0.8 KM wide. No residential but a routing marine guard troop and tourism bureau guiders on island. We are glad to have These two trips for our first Taiwan Ham radio on this island.
Although worked out tremendous preparation, even a 6.4 degree earthquake raised on this island on 31 March and two operators was lie-down by 38.5°C heat stroke, but we have a lot of fun There.
